Accessibility

Our Commitment
At Jupyter, we believe smart home security should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to ensuring our website and products can be used by people of all abilities, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital experiences.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone.
Screen Reader Support
Pages are structured with proper headings, labels, and ARIA attributes for assistive technologies.
Reduced Motion
Animations respect your system's "reduce motion" preference for a calmer experience.
Text Scaling
Text sizes are defined in relative units, allowing browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
Clear Structure
Logical heading hierarchy and landmark regions help you navigate content efficiently.
Descriptive Links
Links clearly describe their destination, so you know where they lead before clicking.
Animations & Motion
Our product pages feature scroll-triggered animations and visual effects to showcase our products. We understand that motion can be distracting or uncomfortable for some users.
Reducing Motion on Your Device
To reduce or disable animations across our website, enable the "reduce motion" setting on your device:
- macOS: System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion
- iOS: Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion
- Windows: Settings > Ease of Access > Display > Show animations (turn off)
- Android: Settings > Accessibility > Remove animations
Our website respects the prefers-reduced-motion media query. When enabled, animations will be minimized or disabled automatically.
Colour & Contrast
We design with sufficient colour contrast to ensure text is readable. Our interface uses:
- A minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text
- A minimum contrast ratio of 3:1 for large text and UI components
- Information is not conveyed by colour alone
Mobile App Accessibility
The SecureProtect mobile app (available on iOS and Android) is designed with accessibility in mind:
- Compatible with VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android)
- Supports Dynamic Type for larger text sizes
- High contrast mode support
- Clear, simple interface design
Known Limitations
Current limitations we are working to address:
- Some product page animations use scroll-triggered motion that may be uncomfortable for users with motion sensitivity. We respect the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting.
- Captions are provided for video content. Audio descriptions are not yet available for product videos. If you require audio descriptions, email info@jupyter.com.au and we will provide a written walkthrough within 2 business days.
- The compatibility checker and bundle selector are designed for keyboard navigation but have not been independently audited. If you encounter a barrier, please let us know so we can fix it.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly:
- Test our website with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
- Review colour contrast and visual design
- Update our practices based on user feedback
- Train our team on accessibility best practices
