Your rights and obligations depend on which phase you're in:

Waitlist (Current) $0 Cancel anytime, no questions asked
Pre-order (Mid 2026) Refundable deposit (TBA) Full refund until shipping confirmed
Post-purchase Full payment 30-day returns policy applies

2. Waitlist Phase (Current)

2.1 What You're Doing Today

When you join the waitlist, you are reserving your spot in line for Jupyter products. You are NOT making a purchase or entering into a binding agreement to buy. No payment is required or accepted at this stage.

2.2 Pricing

Pricing has not yet been announced. We reserve the right to adjust prices based on manufacturing costs, exchange rates, and market conditions.

You will be notified of pricing before any payment is required. Payment plan options will be available through our financing partners (see Section 6).

2.3 Cancellation During Waitlist

You may cancel your waitlist reservation at any time, at no cost. Since no payment has been taken, there is nothing to refund.

To cancel:

3. Pre-order Phase

3.1 When Pre-orders Open

Waitlist members will receive priority access and advance notice via email before pre-orders open publicly. Pricing will be announced at this time. Exact timing will be communicated well in advance based on our manufacturing and certification progress.

3.2 Pre-order Deposit

To secure your order, a refundable deposit will be required per bundle. The deposit amount will be announced when pre-orders open. This deposit will be deducted from your final purchase price.

3.3 Cancellation During Pre-order

You may cancel your pre-order and receive a full refund of your deposit at any time before we confirm your order has entered shipping. Once your order is confirmed as shipped or dispatched to our logistics partner, cancellation is no longer available and our returns policy applies instead.

3.4 How to Cancel Pre-order

3.5 Balance Payment

The remaining balance (full price minus deposit) will be charged approximately 2 weeks before shipping. You will receive an email with a secure payment link. If payment is not completed within 14 days, your pre-order may be cancelled and deposit refunded.

4. Post-Purchase (After Shipping)

4.1 Once Your Order Ships

After your order has been dispatched, the pre-order cancellation policy no longer applies. Instead, our standard Returns Policy governs all returns and refunds.

4.2 Returns & Refunds

Change of Mind: You may return unused, unopened products within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. The product must be in its original packaging and in resaleable condition. Return shipping is at your cost. Refunds are processed within 10 business days of receiving the returned product.

Faulty or Defective Products: If your product is faulty, defective, or does not match its description, you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure, you may choose a replacement or a full refund. For a minor failure, we may repair the product within a reasonable timeframe. We will cover return shipping costs for products confirmed as faulty.

Damaged in Transit: If your product arrives damaged, contact support@jupyter.com.au within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the damage. We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you.

How to Return: Email support@jupyter.com.au with your order number and reason for return. We will provide a return authorisation and shipping instructions within 2 business days.

Non-returnable Items: Products that have been installed, physically damaged through misuse, or are missing original packaging and accessories may not be eligible for a change-of-mind return. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law for faulty products.

See our full Returns Policy for complete details.

5. Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the products repaired or replaced if the products fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent state and territory legislation.

6. Warranty, Liability & AI Accuracy

6.1 Hardware Warranty

Jupyter products are covered by a 12-month manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, improper installation, or normal wear and tear.

To make a warranty claim, contact support@jupyter.com.au with your order number and a description of the issue. We will assess the claim and, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the product in accordance with our obligations under Australian Consumer Law.

6.2 AI Accuracy

Jupyter products use artificial intelligence to detect and classify events including faces, people, vehicles, parcels, sounds, and behaviours. While we invest significant effort in training and improving our AI models, no AI system is perfect. Detections may occasionally be inaccurate, delayed, or missed entirely. Factors including lighting, camera angle, weather, obstructions, and network conditions can affect performance.

Jupyter products are designed to enhance your security awareness. They are not a substitute for professional monitored security systems, emergency services, or insurance. You should not rely solely on Jupyter products for the protection of life or property.

6.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to Section 5 (Australian Consumer Law), Jupyter's total liability arising from or related to the use of Jupyter products, software, or services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Jupyter for the relevant product.

Jupyter is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of property, loss of data, loss of revenue, personal injury, or emotional distress arising from the use of or inability to use Jupyter products.

This limitation applies regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if Jupyter has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

6.4 Security Disclaimer

Jupyter products provide AI-powered security monitoring and deterrence. They do not guarantee the prevention of break-ins, theft, property damage, or personal harm. No security system can guarantee absolute protection. We strongly recommend maintaining appropriate home and contents insurance coverage regardless of the security measures you have in place.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, firmware, AI models, and proprietary algorithms embedded in Jupyter products remain the intellectual property of Jupyter Pty Ltd. Your purchase grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software and firmware included with your Jupyter products for personal, non-commercial home security purposes.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or distribute the software or firmware. Automatic software and firmware updates may be delivered to your device to improve performance, fix issues, or add features.

16. Device Compatibility & Features

16.1 Supported Cameras

Jupyter Hub works with IP security cameras that support RTSP streaming. RTSP is a widely used protocol supported by most modern IP cameras from brands including Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, and many others.

For best performance:

Camera compatibility depends on the manufacturer, model, and firmware version. We maintain a compatibility checker at jupyter.com.au where you can verify your camera before purchase. If your camera is not in our database, contact support@jupyter.com.au and we will verify compatibility for you.

16.2 Smart Home Devices

At launch, Jupyter Hub supports the following smart home integrations:

16.3 Voice AI & Text Summary (Future Feature)

Voice AI and Text Summary are planned as optional premium features and will not be available at launch. Release timing and subscription pricing will be communicated to customers separately.

When available, Voice AI will allow you to query recent security events using natural language. Text summaries are generated from event metadata (timestamps, detection types, zone labels). No raw video or audio content is transmitted to external servers for this feature.

16.4 Best Practices

For the best experience with your Jupyter system:

Note: Features, compatibility, and supported devices may change as we continuously improve the system through automatic updates. For the latest compatibility information, visit our support page or contact us directly.
