Cameras

jupyter works with any IP camera that supports RTSP — the standard used by the vast majority of security cameras available today, across 200+ brands and 5,000+ models. At launch, up to 6 cameras can be connected.

If your camera also supports ONVIF, setup is even simpler — the jupyter hub will detect it automatically on your home network. You will still need to enter your camera credentials to complete onboarding.

If your camera supports RTSP but not ONVIF, you will need your camera's IP address, username and password to add it manually. These are typically found in your camera's settings or its manufacturer app.

Not at this time. Ring, Arlo and Google Nest use closed proprietary ecosystems that do not expose an RTSP stream for third-party access. They are designed to lock you into their own platforms and cloud subscriptions.

jupyter is built on open standards. If a camera gives you access to its stream, jupyter can think through it.

First, install and connect your cameras using your manufacturer's instructions — this gets them live on your home network. Once running, open the SecureProtect App. The jupyter hub will scan your network and detect ONVIF-compatible cameras automatically. For non-ONVIF cameras, tap Add Camera Manually and enter the camera's IP address, username and password. Each camera takes under three minutes to onboard.

The simplest path is the Outdoor Protection or Orbital Protection bundle — both include jupyter-ready 3K Wi-Fi cameras that are fully tested and guaranteed to work out of the box. No compatibility questions, no guesswork.

If you prefer to use your existing cameras, contact our team before reserving and we will confirm compatibility for you. Your $50 deposit is fully refundable until manufacturing commences ahead of the June 2026 ship date.

We recommend 1 Mbps per camera for reliable remote streaming to the SecureProtect App. Local AI processing and recording continue uninterrupted even if your internet connection drops temporarily.

Bundles

Hub ($999) — You already have RTSP-compatible cameras and want jupyter's six AI engines applied to your existing setup. All AI features included. You source and install your own cameras.

Outdoor Protection ($1,399) — Includes the Hub, Outdoor Halo, Indoor Halo, 2 jupyter-ready 3K Wi-Fi cameras, 1 door entry sensor and 1 key fob. Ideal for most homes.

Orbital Protection ($1,699) — Includes the Hub, Outdoor Halo, Indoor Halo, 4 jupyter-ready 3K Wi-Fi cameras, 1 door entry sensor and 1 key fob. Best for larger properties or homes with multiple entry points.

Both bundles include jupyter-ready 3K Wi-Fi cameras (2880×1620). They are IP67 weatherproof, feature dual-light for night visibility, have built-in audio, and connect to your Wi-Fi network in minutes via the SecureProtect App. No wiring or electrician required.

The Outdoor Halo is weather-resistant and designed for external mounting — near a front door, gate or driveway. It deters intruders on approach with an audible alarm and is the first line of response when a threat is detected.

The Indoor Halo is designed for interior placement near windows, entry halls or living areas. It powers the Occupancy AI feature — projecting realistic household sounds to simulate presence when you are away — and responds to sound events detected inside the home.

Both Halos are included in the Outdoor Protection and Orbital Protection bundles. The Hub-only bundle does not include a Halo.

The jupyter hub stores all recordings locally — no cloud storage, no subscription. Depending on the number of cameras connected and the volume of daily activity, the hub can retain footage for up to 5 years. Higher camera counts and busier environments will reduce this figure. All storage is encrypted on-device.

Any IP camera labelled RTSP or ONVIF compatible is available from most Australian electronics retailers — JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Bunnings and Amazon all carry suitable options. Brands such as Hikvision, Reolink, Dahua, Swann and Axis have widely available RTSP-compatible models.

Installation

The Hub and door entry sensor are plug-and-play — setup is guided entirely through the SecureProtect App with no tools required.

The Outdoor Halo connects via USB-C, so no electrician is needed for wall mounting. For ceiling mounting, we recommend using a professional installer to ensure the unit is secured safely and positioned correctly.

We recommend mounting the Outdoor Halo at least six feet from the ground to prevent tampering.

Position Halo devices close to front doors or ground-floor windows — the most common points of entry. For the Outdoor Halo, ensure it is visible from the street and mounted above reach to deter tampering.

The Hub requires a standard AC power connection. The Indoor and Outdoor Halos are primarily USB-C powered. Both include battery backup — designed to keep the alarm and core functions running for up to 72 hours on standby in the event of a power outage.

Automated garage control requires a Meross smart garage door controller, available separately. With it connected, jupyter can open and close your garage in response to vehicle detection and key fob presence.

Without a Meross controller, VehicleAI still delivers full intelligence — you will receive notifications when a vehicle is approaching, departing or parked near your home. The awareness and tracking features work entirely through your existing cameras.

Setup

jupyter is designed to be fast from the moment you open the box.

Hub — power on and configure via the SecureProtect App in under 3 minutes.
Each camera — onboard in under 3 minutes once live on your network.
Key fob — pair in approximately 30 seconds.
Door entry sensor — pair in approximately 30 seconds.

Most households will be fully operational within 15–20 minutes of unboxing.

Yes — we strongly recommend it. Setting detection zones for ParcelAI, VehicleAI and LoiterAI restricts each engine to your private property boundary, significantly improving accuracy and reducing false alerts from public footpaths, neighbouring driveways or passing traffic. Zones are configured in the SecureProtect App and can be adjusted at any time.

Our technical support team is available to assist with any aspect of hardware setup or SecureProtect App configuration. Reach us through the app or via the support portal on the jupyter website.

Pricing & Payment

Your $50 deposit secures your place in the Launch Edition — our first production run, shipping June 2026. It is fully refundable on request until manufacturing commences. After that point, it converts to credit toward your final purchase. You will not be charged the remaining balance until your order is ready to ship.

No subscription is required for any of jupyter's core AI features — FaceAI, ParcelAI, LoiterAI, SoundAI, VehicleAI and OccupancyAI are all included at no ongoing cost. No cloud storage fees. Ever.

VoiceAI includes a free 3-month trial with every bundle. After the trial, a subscription is required to continue using this feature. Pricing will be published ahead of the June 2026 launch.

Afterpay will be available at checkout from June 2026, on the balance after your $50 deposit. Standard Afterpay terms and conditions apply.

As a reference, the Hub on a 24-month plan works out to approximately $39.99 per month — less than the typical excess on a single home burglary insurance claim.

Accessories

Every Outdoor Protection and Orbital Protection bundle includes one key fob and one door entry sensor as standard, along with wall mounts and USB-C cables.

Additional accessories — including extra key fobs, door sensors and USB-C cable extensions — will be available to purchase on the jupyter website from June 2026. You will also have the option to add accessories at checkout when finalising your order.

Yes. If the included USB-C cable does not reach your preferred mounting position, USB-C cable extensions will be available through the jupyter accessories store from June 2026. Any standard USB-C extension cable from your preferred electronics retailer will also work.

Yes. Additional cameras (up to 6 total), key fobs and door sensors can be added at any time. Additional Halo devices will be available to purchase from June 2026.

Features

All six AI engines — FaceAI, ParcelAI, LoiterAI, SoundAI, VehicleAI and OccupancyAI — run entirely on the jupyter hub. No video footage is ever stored or processed outside of your home.

VoiceAI is the only feature that interacts with an external service. When active, limited metadata may be transmitted to a secure AI voice service to enable voice responses — but no footage, no facial data and no sensitive personal information is ever transmitted.

OccupancyAI uses the Indoor Halo to project realistic household sounds — conversations, appliances, a dog moving around — through the home when you are away. To anyone outside, your home sounds lived in. Perceived occupancy remains one of the most effective deterrents known.

You control when it activates through the SecureProtect App.

Not at launch. A future over-the-air update will enable multiple Halo devices to be paired as a mesh, allowing coordinated sound and alarm responses across your entire home. We are committed to OTA updates and this feature is on the roadmap.

Wi-Fi speaker functionality for the Indoor Halo is coming later in 2026 as an over-the-air update.

The Launch Edition targets June 2026 for Australia and New Zealand. Exact dates will be communicated well in advance. Launch Edition reservation holders will be the first to receive their orders.
